How it is made

Your sofa does not exist until you order it

Every piece is built from scratch to your size, wood and fabric. That is why it takes weeks rather than days — and why it fits your room instead of nearly fitting.

We agree the drawing

Size, wood, finish and fabric are fixed in writing before anything is cut. If you are matching an existing piece or a specific wall, we measure first.

3–7 days

Timber is selected and cut

Seasoned teak or rosewood is chosen, checked for defects and cut oversize, so the frame can be trued after the wood settles.

1–2 weeks

One carver, one set

The carving is done by hand by a single carver so the motif stays consistent across every piece. This is the stage that sets the whole timeline.

2–9 weeks

Assembly, polish and leaf

Joints are cut and clamped, the frame is sanded by hand into every recess, then polished in coats. Gold and silver leaf is laid sheet by sheet.

2–4 weeks

Upholstery and delivery

Foam is cut, the base is sprung or webbed, and the fabric fitted. We deliver and place it ourselves in Mumbai — no third-party carpenter at your door.

1–2 weeks

The wood, by name

Solid teak or solid rosewood — and solid throughout, not solid on the faces you can see.

Foam density as a number

40-density foam on seating. Not “high density” — the actual figure, so you can compare it.

Upholstery and its grade

Velvet, chenille, linen or full-grain leather. If it is leather, we say which grain.

Every measurement

Width, depth, height and seat height for each piece, so you can check your lift and doorway.

Production time in weeks

Stated before you pay. If it slips, we tell you rather than waiting for you to ask.

Warranty, split out

Frame and upholstery covered separately, with the exclusions written down.
